Through the various series of my work, the intent is to break through the various cynical groupthink mentalities running rampant in our world. I like to create work not easily recognized as to avoid mislabels. Just as humans, the pieces are layered onions to peel with attention, compassion, trust, and goodwill in order to understand. It is an excercise in practicing not just what a first glance will give, but what we can truly begin to see when we actively focus on what is around and in front of us. By doing so, a work of art, an environment, another person transforms in front of us and we have the ability to see the true depths of beauty, truth, and hope in everything and everyone around us.
